Calling all landlubbers! Time to get your sea legs! The Harriers make their inaugural trip out onto New Hampshire's ocean waters aboard the Granite State out of Rye Harbor. Our forests and fields aren't the only habitats teeming with life: watch the buoyant flight of the tiny Wilson's Storm-petrel, which breeds in the Southern Hemisphere and travels north for "winter"; the Sooty Shearwater, oscillating like a radio wave in its "dynamic soaring"; and, just maybe, a glimpse of a plunging Northern Gannet, Atlantic Puffin, or another rare surprise. We'll keep our eyes peeled for whales, porpoises, seals, and all manner of wildlife as well. Harriers members go free of charge; adults pay a reduced ticket price of $20. Meet at Rye Harbor at 8:00 a.m.; the boat departs at 8:30 and will return around 1:30 p.m. This is not a trip to miss!
Note: We do need to know well ahead of time if you plan to attend, as space for this trip is limited. Please reserve your spot as soon as possible. RSVP by email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
